Discovery Quest
Little questions. Wild discoveries.
Let your child’s curiosity take flight.
Turn a love of animals into a joyful science and reading adventure, inspired by the CurioKite books by Jenna Lynn Featherstone.
Free download with optional in-app subscription. For iPhone and iPad.
A closer look for parents
Wonder, reading, and faith—one discovery at a time.
CurioKite invites children to think about a question, make a prediction, and uncover an answer from the books. There are no grades and no typed answers: both “I knew it” and “I learned it” move the adventure forward.
Explore animal science
Discover animal behavior, habitats, and remarkable abilities through thoughtful questions and optional clues.
Build a reading habit
Read each discovery together or use optional narration to hear both the question and the revealed answer. Enjoy the animal illustrations, pause to discuss, and return at your own pace.
Connect faith & wonder
Explore animal science from a Christian, intelligent-design perspective. Selected discoveries include King James Version Bible passages.
Five worlds to explore
Which animal will spark a question today?
Each trail contains 60 questions and answers from its CurioKite book. Try five discoveries from every trail for free; membership opens all 300 current discoveries.
You do not need to own the printed books to play. The app also makes a companion for family reading and homeschool enrichment.
From a question to an “aha!”
A simple, encouraging way to play.
1. Choose a trail
Start with a five-question free flight. Members can choose a 10-question quick flight or a full 60-question adventure.
2. Think, then discover
Read or listen to the question, use a clue if needed, and answer aloud or in your head. Reveal the illustrated answer, then read or listen at your own pace.
3. Celebrate learning
Earn kite points and milestones, review the discovery journal, and print a completion certificate for a finished challenge.
Now available on the App Store: animal illustrations, clear answer headings, and optional narration for both questions and answers. Follow one discovery from question to answer in the screenshots below.

Good to know before downloading
Parents’ questions, answered.
What ages is CurioKite designed for?
The current app description recommends ages 9 and up. Confident readers can explore independently, while younger children may enjoy the questions with a grown-up. Apple’s 4+ content rating describes content suitability; it is different from the recommended reading age.
Which devices can we use?
CurioKite is available for iPhone and iPad in English. It requires iOS 15.0 or iPadOS 15.0 or later. Check the App Store listing for current compatibility, download size, and availability in your region.
Does the app work without the internet?
The game, book content, and narration are bundled in the app. Book content is available offline after access is verified. Internet access is needed to download updates and for Apple’s purchase and subscription services.
Will our progress sync between devices?
Progress is saved locally on the device. It is not an online family account or a cloud-synced progress record. Keep this in mind before deleting the app or switching devices.
Is this a complete science curriculum?
CurioKite is a science and reading enrichment game with a Christian, intelligent-design perspective. Use it alongside your family’s books, lessons, and conversations.
How do the read-aloud and certificates work?
Optional narration reads questions and revealed answers aloud when your child selects the listening control. Narration does not start automatically. After completing a challenge, you can print a completion certificate identifying that challenge. A printer or your device’s supported print workflow is needed for a paper copy.
How do I restore or manage a subscription?
Open the grown-up membership area and use Restore Purchases when needed. Manage renewal or cancellation through your Apple Account subscription settings. For app help, contact Jenna Lynn Featherstone Books.
